Peter Beresford OBE is a long term user of mental health services, Visiting Professor at the University of East Anglia, England and Co-Chair of the disabled people’s and service user led organization, Shaping Our Lives (https://shapingourlives.org.uk ). He has a longstanding involvement in issues of participation and empowerment as an activist, educator, researcher and writer. Recent books include the Routledge International Handbook of Mad Studies (2022) and The Future of Social Care: From problem to rights-based sustainable solution.
