Jimmy Volmink is an emeritus professor of global health and former dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He was the founding Director of Cochrane South Africa and has played numerous other leadership roles in Cochrane since its establishment in 1993. He is widely recognised for his contributions to evidence-based health care, research capacity building, health professions education and the promotion of health and human dignity.
