Take a break

‘Take a break’ from the hustle and bustle of #CochraneLondon by heading to Level 1 of the QEII Centre. With lots of natural sunlight and comfy places to sit, Level 1 of the QEII Centre is waiting for you!

The ‘take a break’ section is part of a broader effort to create a conference experience that is both productive and enjoyable. “Cochrane recognizes that conferences can be busy and overwhelming at times. We want to ensure that Cochrane London attendees have the opportunity to prioritize their wellbeing while they are here while also engaging in some fun and social activities,” explains Sabrina Khamissa, event organizer.  “Some people take a break by connecting with others and some people need time to themselves - the activities planned on Level 1 of QEII Centre will meet both of these needs!"

Prioritize your wellbeing and schedule in some time for self-care! Here are some of the activities planned for Level 1:

Networking events – The casual atmosphere of level 1 will set the stage for several meet-and-greets and networking events. Each day will have different themed networking events including a kick-off event for ‘Colloquium first timers’, early-career professionals meet-up, and meet-and-greets with the Cochrane CEO and Editor in Chief

Library of People - Just like a regular library where you check out books, sign up to speak to someone you wouldn’t normally meet and listen to their story. From a patient trying to use evidence to make health decisions to someone trying to advocate for health policy changes, the human library will provide some insightful conversations!

Book Exchange – The Cochrane Book Club is setting up a table on Level 1 with free books! Browse the table, find your next favourite read, and chat with others!  You are also welcome to bring a book from home to pass on; there will be bookmarks available for you to write a message about why you recommend the book.

Zen Zone – Sometimes you just need a moment to yourself to absorb the learning from the day and be away from the noise – mute your phone and embrace some calm in the ‘zen zone’.
